Cold Day in......

Michigan? Yep! It's just too cold for man and beast. My dogs don't even want to go outside. I don't blame them. We are up to a balmy 5 degrees above 0 now! Woohooo! I may drag out some puppy pads I have somewhere around here for the dogs just so they won't have to go outside. The hard part is breaking them from it when the weather changes. I'll have to give that one some thought before I do it. This cold weather is very good for my business though, so I'm trying not to complain too much. I do hate that Garry has to go out in it, but he doesn't seem to mind a bit. He just loves to be busy.

I've been getting a bit of sewing time in these past few days. I, finally, gave in and decided to start the latest Quiltville mystery that Bonnie did for New Years Eve. It's wonderful. I knew I was going to have to do it when I saw hers. I tried to resist, but failed in the end. I'm still on Clue 1, but it's moving along now that I read the instructions more carefully. I do have 10 clue 1's that are the wrong size. I'm glad I made 10 test blocks before I went nuts with them. I'd have been upset if I had made all 120 of them wrong. So....here's the pic of them so far. About half way done with clue 1. They are only 3.5" blocks, so it takes a while!

Doesn't look like much so far, but I hadn't done these Square in a Square blocks before and it took a bit of trial and error for me. I'm pretty happy with them now. Mine isn't going to be scrappy this time. I bought fabric just for this design and I'm excited to get it to the point of seeing what the blocks will look like next to each other, but I've got a long way to go before I get to that point. I'll head back to more of this....... Oh....and the new sewing table is working out great! I'm so happy with Garry right now! Yay for "The Handy Hubby"!

The cold is too nasty for me, I think I'm just going to hibernate until April.... I'll be out in time for the St.Jude's retreat....

Boy, I don't know about you, but I'm sick of this Michigan winter!! It is 14 degrees right now and we are under a winter storm warning for 5 to 8 inches of snow by tomorrow. The warning is over at 5 a.m. tomorrow and we are leaving on a school bus with 25 Drama kids to go to Chicago - FOR THE DAY!!!! Leave at 6 a.m. and return at 11 p.m. Shoot me now LOL
I can't tell you how COOL your sewing table is. What I wouldn't give to have flush!!!! My machine sits down in but everything fall in around it. Enjoy your quilting :)

This cold is horrible. We didn't get above 1 here in Ohio yesterday!

Can't wait to see your finished mystery quilt. I haven't decided yet if I want to do it or not, I probably will.

Love the table, it looks great!

Can't wait to see what your square in a square blocks turn into!! Love your sewing table, too. It's a challenge keeping warm with these temperatures, isn't it?

How nice your table looks! Is it portable? If not, how will you handle sewing without it in April? giggle Stay warm!!
