Things I learned at retreat!

It takes all night to make a pie....(it was a pie pincushion)
I get really stupid about 4 a.m. and it doesn't get better between 4 and 7 a.m.
There is really no reason for me to take projects to retreat because I got nothing accomplished, but had a lot of fun.
When Jill says "No Snack Table" she does not mean it.
I should expect to gain at least 10 pounds at retreat because they feed you a lot and often.
I will never get a quilt for just cutting my finger half off with a rotary cutter. I'll need to cut off an entire limb apparently.
Harvest Spice is mine...all mine...

And finally....
There are no better people in the world than quilters. What a wonderful bunch of women. I'm a very lucky woman to be a part of the Prolific Online Quilters Group. Everyone I met in person, from online, was exactly who I thought they were. No suprises there.

I'll have some pics soon. I didn't take that many. I was busy...visiting with everyone for the most part.

Home Sweet Home

I'm home! Pictures of retreat to come, but I'm too tired to mess with it now! I had a super fantastic time! The weather was awesome. Getting to meet all the "Peeps" was amazing and I think a great time was had by all!

My friend Patti Quilts!

That's right! Patti and I both have a friend from church who has a brand new baby boy! Of course, we both wanted to make him a quilt for the shower/pot luck after church on Sunday. So, she came over yesterday with her first quilt all pinned and ready to quilt. When she left last night, all that was left was to hand sew the binding down. Here it is!

Her quilt is a baby quilt kit from Connecting Threads...Hey Diddle Diddle and it's adorable.

I needed one finished, too. I had some bow tie blocks so I decided to use them. Here's mine and it's done, done, done! Ok...I need to wash it...but that's it!

And the really exciting thing is that one week from right now, I'll be at the quilting retreat with "The Peeps". Yipppeeeee! I'm so ready to go!

Still alive and quilting.....

Still keeping busy, but I'm a bad bad blogger.......

I've got binding on four quilts that I've been dragging my feet about finishing. I'll be hand sewing all the bindings down on Craft Day this Saturday. Here they are.....

There's is big oops in that last one. I even hand quilted it and didn't notice it until I took this pic. Oh well....too late now! I guess I'll have to live with it. I've also been working on my kits for RETREAT! Yep, going to retreat in two weeks, one day! Wooohoooo..... Don't these hand made kits look like they wanna get moving and be made into something? Two weeks better go by fast!
I'm still working on hexagons too. I kinda like working on these while pretending to watch tv at night.
We had our annual Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg hunt last Saturday. Big turn out. I think the final count for people was 625 or so. 4000 candy filled eggs later, I had a headache and was ready to come home. But...we went to the movies instead. I've seen a couple of movies lately. Knowing. The new Nick Cage movie. Very good special effects. And Garry bribed me with Popcorn to sit thru 12 Rounds. I've seen better and I've seen worse. We had a pajama party at my friend Val's house while the "men" went to Toronto a couple of weeks ago. We watched "The Secret Life of Bees". I loved the book and that usually means I will hate the movie. But not this time. Both the movie and the book were awesome.
Well....I need to figure out some more projects for the retreat....so I'm off to do that now!
Later!
