Ahhh.....some progress at last.....

I'm still not fully up and running yet, but every day is getting better. I laid out some of my Double Delight blocks and I think I like it so far. Whatcha think?

I also made a bag recently. It's for the sweetest young lady in fourth grade this year who goes to church with me. Her name is Breanna. She's got all A's this year and I wanted to do something special for her. She's a very girlie girl, so I made her a purse, of course. I think she'll like it.

I finally won the Amyrilis contest Patti and I had going. Yep...bloomage!

And now....off to watch American Idol. Sad, ain't I?

Flu Bug Alert!

Revised: I am now officially back amoung the living. This flu was a killer bug. I'm so far behind in everything that I have no idea where to start. So, of course, I started here. I have loads of work to get done and laundry and dishes and well, you women all know what happens when we get sick. No one else who lives in our homes lifts a finger to keep things done. Yep. That's where I am right now. I could have a fit and get them moving to help, but ... you all know how that works too. I'm off and running now. It's like entering a disaster zone........ wish me luck!

I've got the flu. Fever hit 103 this morning. I'll be back when I'm functional again. It's ugly around here......

Star Wars?

Not really, but I have been making stars. I got the pattern on line, but I can't remember where I got it. It's pretty simple so far. You stack all the fabrics and cut them all at once, then shift them around and "Voila!"....Stars. They were only 9.5" and I wanted the quilt a bit bigger, so I'm adding a frame to each block. The pattern only called for 12 blocks. Whatcha think?

I'm having an Amaryllis growing contest with my friend, Patti. I'm way ahead currently. I really don't know why. She planted hers three days before I remembered I was suppose to do it. The only difference I can think of is that I soaked the roots of mine before I planted it. The roots were all wrapped around the bulb and didn't want to go down in the dirt until I soaked them. It's a bit over 11 inches tall today. Loser buys the other lunch. Patti informed me a while back that she was going to win and she'd like lunch at a little place in Hawaii! Ha! I'm gonna let her off easy and just do Red Lobster or Lone Star. See how nice I am?
AmandaJean of Crazy Mom Quilts recommended a particular white cotton fabric that she loves from Joann's so I got myself some and am trying it out. I really like it. I am just making this up as I go. Using up scraps, but I think it might turn out cute. Time will tell......

I'm pretty excited about my first Quilt Retreat with my peeps. See that in my side bar?
Over there--->....on the right side? Yep, I'm going on my first retreat with some very Prolific Quilters. I really don't know how I ended up in a group that even uses the word prolific, but they are great and I'm really looking forward to a real 3D, live and in person meeting in April. Wooohooooo! Any and all suggestions about "retreating" would be appreciated. Jen put together a great list of things, ideas, suggestions. I have three other friends from my church who are joining us. I can barely stand the waiting now...... Oh...I also made another Bow Tie Tote bag. The bigger one. It's a suprise for someone, so I'm not adding a pic yet.
I suppose since Garry has the tv cranked up with PS3 Need For Speed racing game, I'll be moving back to the sewing room now. I can only take the noise for so long before I start asking myself if his life insurance is paid up. Ughhhhh! He loves it though so.... I'm off......
Later......
