Shhh....can you keep a secret?
I've spent the last few days working on this. My son, Chad, will turn 18 on April 2 and he mentioned to his sister, Cindy, that he would like a quilt from me. Since he's 6'5" tall, I made it longer than I normally make a lap quilt. Hope it's long enough...He loves green. He's the only one in the house that likes green so it will be easy to know it's his. I've been working on it mostly when he's not around, but he's seen some of the strips. I still think he'll be very surprised by it. Notice the feet at the top of the pic...yep, Cindy was in a panic to get the duck in there. Trying to decide if I want to dwirl it or stipple it. What do you think?

That's a good looking quilt. It's so funny that he would hint around to his sis and you picked up on it. I would try the dwirling. It's not like he will pick it apart and it would be great practice. It would really add a new dimension to the straightness of the strips.
That IS an awesome looking quilt!! I think it's soo cool that he hinted he wanted one. I would Dwirl, it's totally guy-like. Make some of your 'interest' areas pointy and sharp and go around them. Ohhhh I can't wait to hear how excited he is!!
I LOVE the quilt. He's going to love it and cherish it forever because you made it for him.
That's so cool, that he wants a QUILT and admitted it to his sister. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Any chance he reads your blog???
I absolutely love it! So will he!
I think you did a great job.I'm sure he will love it.I want to try drilling,it looks so cool.
Having love sewn in each stitch is the most important part.
I love the simplicity and warmth of this quilt - the colors are great! I am sure however you finish it will be perfect!
I love the muted colors in this quilt. I am sure that your son will cherish it!
It turned out wonderful and I'm sure he will love it. I vote for dwirling.
I like your greens! I bet it will be long enough. Dwirling is my choice!
Love the quilt! Definitely dwirl.
