I'm still around. Haven't posted for a while. Feeling much better, but really behind now. Mount Laundry has taken over here. I'll be trying to reach the summit today. Floors need scrubbing, you name it...it needs cleaning here.
I had a post all written up about my irritation with the economy and living in an automotive town/state. I am holding up on posting it, because I just can't deal with all the nasty comments I would get. Let's just say, I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore. I don't want a bunch of comments about my swearing since it's a movie quote and not my normal speech pattern.
We need to hang in there together. To all of my friends who are hanging on by a thread due to the economy, you are in my prayers. Let's help each other get through this mess. I have a friend who is losing her home. No getting out of it now. My heart is breaking for her and her family. I'm inspired by her strength. I do know where her strength comes from. I wonder if I would have it in me in such a dire time. I hope so, but you never know until you are in that position.
Edit: I'm still going to the quilt retreat in April no matter what the economy is doing. I'm going even if I have to sell a kidney on the black market. Giggle!
Maybe something quilty will be coming this week. I've had several things going. Two quilts done except for bindings. Two almost quilted on the machine and another almost done that I'm hand quilting. Hand quilting has been great while I've been under the weather. I would never have dreamed how much I enjoy that. My fingers are very sore though.
Later Gators.....

We must help each other - first in prayer, then in material items. we must not let the children or the elder go hungry.
With you being an employer I am sure your business is being affected by this down turn in the economy. My 401 k figures scare me now...so much for some comfort in our older years. Don't know if I should turn it into cash and stick it under the mattress or what.
Must continue to trust our God as he will supply our needs - this he promises.
Glad to hear you have not turned away from your quilts...maybe they are the seed of sanity in this garden of confusion.

Hey Regina
I'm glad to hear that you're up and going again.
Sorry to hear about your friend. I know things are tough. and a little scary. But we can't give up we need to keep moving. I keep praying and hoping for light at the end of the tunnel.
good luck to day.

I hear you about the down turn in the economy. Fortunately, I don't know of anyone other than Jen who has been affected in their jobs. I hope that it stays that way! Keep getting better!
I have a few friends being affected in this economy - and I know my desire to work on scrappy projects is partially due to a tightening of belts, and a utilitarian mindset.
I can't wait to see you at the retreat - I think we ALL need a chance to "escape" and have some fun!
You need to go to your retreat Regina...we all need to do these things and be able to look forward to something out of the normal. Hugs Khris in Oz
I think that you are just voicing what most of us feel. I am retired and watching the nest egg that we worked for disappear, it is scary for most I would think. It is also so out of our hands in many ways which just adds to the frustration. No solutions to offer, just adding a little empathy.
Hi Regina, Just found your blog and wanted to say Hi to a fellow Michigan quilter. Glad you're feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better! That must have been some bug!!!
